Charlie Cunningham & King Creosote

Heard Charlie Cunningham open for King Creosote last Saturday during the From Scotland With Love gig in the Howard Assembly Room.

Very impressed, he has some serious guitar skills (with Andalusian-tinged interludes, which was lovely) and a gracious stage presence. He was a nice addition on a few songs during King Creosote’s set as well. Looked thrilled to be playing, and it’s always fun to see someone looking so very happy to be doing what they’re doing.

His first EP Outside Things comes out on November 17th. I’m hoping Plans is on there as well, would love to hear a studio recording of it.

And of course, really enjoyed King Creosote, just a pleasure to hear his stuff live. Hope to see the film soon.
