We visited Dia Beacon for the first time, with B. Great place. This is Dan Flavin’s untitled (to the real Dan Hill) 1b from 1978. B’s favorite was Louise Bourgeois’s spider, I think, or maybe Arena by Rita McBride. It was fun stumbling across Occasional Papers’ Explorer in the book shop.

I’ve wanted to do this for ages with Distributaries. I tried to find a minimum distance solution that wasn’t OTT back when I started collecting location coordinates, but I probably wasn’t using the right vocabulary in my searches… ended up ordering them manually (!). Would like to get this in place, I think the manual ordering is part of the reason I’ve been tardy in adding more coordinates.

Lots of Eames notes recently. SB recommended this video to me, I love it. Also, found the Guardian review of the Eames exhibition kind of interesting. It does seem contradictory that they managed to be so unflaggingly optimistic in their lives and output in the face of some pretty harsh concurrent events.
