Everything and nothing is normal.

Made a visual inventory of the fish we saw in Belize. The music is “Surfboard” by the excellent Roberto Menescal. Filmed by Brett and me, edited inexpertly by me. Watch video (Vimeo)
Just a little windy. Turn your sound down.
I’ve wanted to do this for ages with Distributaries. I tried to find a minimum distance solution that wasn’t OTT back when I started collecting location coordinates, but I probably wasn’t using the right vocabulary in my searches… ended up ordering them manually (!). Would like to get this in place, I think the manual ordering is part of the reason I’ve been tardy in adding more coordinates.
Lots of Eames notes recently. SB recommended this video to me, I love it. Also, found the Guardian review of the Eames exhibition kind of interesting. It does seem contradictory that they managed to be so unflaggingly optimistic in their lives and output in the face of some pretty harsh concurrent events.
Been away from the desk for a while, and thus the blog has been on hiatus. With good reason, though: I was on holiday in the states at long last! Got to participate in two friends’ lovely wedding outside Boston, and then we visited family in Nashville, the south coast of Lake Michigan, and Chicago.
Sam was a lucky duck and got to spend a day exploring on his own in the windy city. He saw a ton, including XYT: Detroit Streets, an installation by Zago Architecture at The Art Institute of Chicago. He filmed a little sample of it on his phone. Wish I could have seen it in person.
